Every structure passes through states that never appear on the finished drawings. We identify and design the temporary works those states demand, at every scale and in every direction: propping and façade retention, excavation support with sheet piling, kingpost walls, walers and capping beams, plunge columns, and falsework and formwork for complex pours.

Where the heavy lifting happens, we design the structures that make it possible: temporary towers and trestles, crane ties and crane foundations, lifting frames, jacking structures and launching frames, and the temporary bracing that keeps a part-built frame stable until it can stand on its own.

We assess the permanent structure in its temporary condition, checking part-built frames, construction loading and back-propping so the works can carry the build as well as the finished loads. We predict how structures move during construction and verify it on site through monitoring and surveying, closing the loop between model and reality. And when an answer is needed on site, our engineers are there.

Our engineers also carry out CAT2 and CAT3 independent design checks for contractors and joint ventures on major building and infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally.

Where the build sequence itself is the challenge, our method engineering team works alongside us to prove every stage.

Scope &
specialisms.

Temporary Works Identification & Design

From scheme review and temporary works registers through to site-issue drawings: propping, façade retention, falsework and formwork, temporary bracing and temporary structures.

Excavation Support

Sheet piling, kingpost walls, walers and capping beams, plunge columns and megaprop schemes for deep excavations on constrained sites.

Heavy Lift & Erection Structures

Temporary towers and trestles, crane ties and foundations, lifting frames, jacking structures and launching frames for major erection operations.

Movement Prediction & Surveying

Predicted movements at every construction stage, verified on site through monitoring and survey, closing the loop between model and reality.

Independent Design Checking

CAT2 and CAT3 checks for contractors and joint ventures on major building and infrastructure projects.

Assurance and Site Support

Technical assurance and responsive engineering support through construction, helping site teams resolve queries and deliver the design with confidence.
