Digital Mapping

Digital mapping gives our clients and designers a clearer understanding of the structures they are working with. We combine dimensional surveying, 3D point clouds and drone surveys with structural records to create a practical basis for assessment, adaptation and construction.

Our work starts with the decisions the information needs to support. We agree the coverage, level of detail and outputs, then organise the captured geometry and condition records into drawings and digital models that can be used by the wider project team.

Digital twins bring that model together with inspection findings, material tests and monitoring records. As new evidence becomes available, the record can be updated to support design, maintenance and future interventions. Heritage and listed structures are a key application, where understanding existing fabric and successive alterations is essential to unlocking their potential.

Scope & specialisms.

Dimensional Surveying

Measured surveys, 3D point clouds and drone surveys to record existing geometry. Coverage is planned around access, structural complexity and the decisions the design needs to support.

Condition & Defect Mapping

Locating defects, structural features, materials and connections against the survey. Inspection and investigation findings become part of a traceable record for assessment and repair.

Digital Models & Drawings

Converting survey information into coordinated drawings and models for engineering use. The level of detail and treatment of unverified areas are agreed to suit the project.

Digital Twins

Linking surveyed geometry with condition, test and monitoring records. The result is an evolving representation of the asset, with updates shaped around the needs of its owners and engineers.

Heritage Digitisation

Recording historic fabric, irregular geometry and later alterations to support sensitive adaptation. Digital records help the team understand the relationship between existing materials, details and proposed interventions.

Engineering & Construction Handover

Structuring the information for assessment, design and construction planning. Survey findings and subsequent changes remain connected, supporting coordination, verification and future asset care.

Information built for use.

Survey and model outputs

Drawings, point clouds and digital models with their coverage, reference information and known limitations identified.

Connected evidence

Condition maps, photographs and investigation records linked to the areas of the structure they describe.

A record that can evolve

An agreed approach to incorporating testing, construction changes and monitoring as further information becomes available.
