The EKFB section of HS2 Phase One encompassed approximately 80 km of new high-speed railway infrastructure, extending between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. The works comprised a broad range of major civil engineering assets, including viaducts, tunnels, bridges, highway diversions and extensive earthworks, delivered as part of one of the UK's largest transport infrastructure programmes.
The route presented a diverse set of engineering challenges, requiring the integration of complex structures, geotechnical solutions and large-scale construction activities across multiple sites.
Wentworth supported EKFB across multiple work fronts on HS2, bringing ground and structural engineering into construction planning. We helped the delivery teams develop workable approaches to the varied terrain, structures and site conditions along the route.
