Wentworth attends the Rankine Lecture 2026
18.03.26
Several members of the Wentworth team attended the 64th Rankine Lecture, hosted by the British Geotechnical Association, one of the standout events in the geotechnical calendar.
This year's lecture was delivered by Professor William Powrie of the University of Southampton, whose talk, Behavioural Mechanisms in Geotechnical Engineering, offered a thought-provoking exploration of how behavioural understanding and observed performance can inform more robust, resilient geotechnical design.
The post-lecture dinner rounded off the evening well, a welcome opportunity to reconnect with colleagues from across the industry, share experiences, and exchange ideas in a more relaxed setting.
Events like this are a reminder of the value in stepping back from day-to-day project work: engaging with leading thinkers and bringing fresh perspectives back to the team.
We're already looking forward to next year's.
