Progress continues at 60 Gracechurch Street, a major commercial development in the heart of the City of London. Since early 2025, Wentworth has been providing substructure temporary works engineering services, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of this complex project.
Working within a constrained urban environment presents unique engineering challenges. Our role has included the design of basement support systems, temporary works, plunge column assessments, logistics slab design, tower crane foundations and a range of enabling works that help facilitate the project's top-down construction sequence.
While much of this work remains hidden once the permanent structure is complete, temporary works play a critical role in maintaining stability, supporting excavation activities and enabling construction to progress safely below ground. The project demonstrates the importance of close collaboration between designers, contractors and checking teams to deliver effective engineering solutions on complex sites.
The latest footage from site offers a glimpse into the scale and complexity of the works currently underway. We're proud to be contributing our expertise to this landmark development and to be working alongside Keltbray, Bovis Construction and the wider project team as 60 Gracechurch continues to take shape.
