Advisory Services — Engineering Insight, Strategic Impact. Wentworth’s advisory services deliver expert insight at every stage of complex projects. We help clients mitigate risk, optimise design, and unlock sustainable value, ensuring safe, efficient, and commercially viable outcomes. Leveraging our deep technical expertise and our Group’s proven delivery capabilities, Wentworth offers practical, execution-driven solutions while operating independently to deliver strategic impact in markets worldwide. Whether advising on decommissioning, decarbonisation, structural assurance, or complex engineering challenges, Wentworth provides the expertise to solve the toughest problems and shape the future of the built environment.
Our Capabilities
At Wentworth Labs, we stay ahead of the curve by investing in research and sharing knowledge to improve design and project delivery. Much of our work is in collaboration with Keltbray, as well as industry partners such as CIRIA, TWf, IStructE, EMR, ACDG, and Arup. From steel re-use and our award-winning Hiperpile to innovative floorplate solutions and our upcoming paper on low-carbon concrete, we continue to drive industry advancements.
Our Capabilities
Wentworth is unique in the consulting industry, offering in-house surveying, testing, repair, and verification of existing structures — including specialist lifting and jacking operations. Available as a standalone service or integrated with our design expertise, we provide clients with everything needed to assess, enhance, repurpose, and adapt existing structures.
Structural Engineering
Our expert structural team provides a comprehensive range of services, from whole-building analysis and design to peer reviews and the design of individual components and connections.
Geotechnical Engineering
Our expert geotechnical team offers services including ground movement and damage assessments, foundation design, tunnelling, and jet grouting.
Construction Method Engineering
Our award-winning construction method engineering helps clients and contractors optimise their builds, from basements and high-rise structures to major infrastructure and bridges.
Temporary Works
We undertake all aspects of temporary works design, primarily for contractors, providing full design information and construction support.
3D Modelling + Detailing
We specialise in advanced 3D modelling, connection detailing, and rebar detailing, including complex connection design.
Hiperpile
Wentworth is proud to have played a pivotal role in the development of Hiperpile, an innovative foundation system that transforms deep foundations into energy-generating assets. Developed with Keltbray, this pioneering technology is designed to significantly reduce both embodied and operational carbon in the built environment.
Research & Development
Wentworth Labs is focused on developing solutions that enhance safety, sustainability, and efficiency in the built environment.
Investigation + Testing
We offer a full suite of on-site surveys and testing, ranging from drone-based dimensional surveys and non-intrusive rebar scanning to load testing and geotechnical assessments.
Structural Repair and Strengthening
We design and install structural repairs and bespoke strengthening options, including FRP systems for slab, beam and column enhancement, punching shear solutions. and the use of bar and strand post tensioning for remedial applications.
Decommissioning Advisory (Nuclear, Offshore, Industrial)
The safe and efficient decommissioning of industrial assets, nuclear facilities, and offshore structures requires meticulous planning, regulatory compliance, and expert engineering strategies.
Heavy Lift & Logistics Strategies for Complex Infrastructure
Moving and installing heavy, oversized structures requires precision engineering and logistics coordination. Wentworth provides expert planning and execution strategies for heavy lifting operations.
Social Value & Sustainability Advisory
With sustainability a central driver on global infrastructure and development projects, Wentworth provides industry-leading expertise to support net-zero, circular economy, and social value strategies.
Structural Integrity Audits & Assurance
Ensuring the safety, longevity, and regulatory compliance of existing infrastructure is a core advisory service of Wentworth.
Expert Witness Services
Complex engineering disputes, failures, and litigation require authoritative technical insight. Wentworth offers independent expert witness services for legal, insurance, and arbitration cases.
Energy Strategy Advice
The global transition to clean, efficient, and resilient energy systems requires strategic planning and expert engineering advice. Wentworth supports clients in navigating energy transition challenges, infrastructure development, and sustainability initiatives.
3D Modelling + Detailing
Wentworth has the tools to visualise, analyse, design, check and present the most complex design solutions using 3D software.
Conception and design
Conception and designOur default is to model our projects in 3D. We build 3D models to allow us to coordinate the project and interfaces and allow better understanding of the project. This understanding aids the development of analysis models and detailed design and also the planning of the construction methodology in a coordinated manner. We utilise 3D structural and geotechnical analysis software to solve the increasingly complex challenges on projects where site constraints or the proposed structure demand it.
Construction information
Construction informationOur Technician team specialises in the detailing of structural steelwork and reinforced concrete (RC), working with the engineering team to produce solutions for both temporary and permanent works. We create detailed, constructible models and drawings that take into consideration the safety elements of a task, efficiency and buildability whilst making it as cost effective as possible.
Whether designing for temporary structures like formwork and back propping, or for permanent elements such as façade retention systems, RC foundations, or steel frame connections, our team combines technical expertise with industry best practices and software’s to deliver high quality outputs for all our clients. Working in 3D ensures coordination and avoids clashes and presents construction information through models to allow the construction team to visualise and plan their works.
All of our construction stage information for connection designs and reinforcement detailing is produced in Tekla, ensuring alignment with the industry standard software in use by fabricators and preserving the digital information flow from design to manufacture.
