3D MODELLING AND DETAILING
Construction complexity needs strong coordination between design, analysis, and buildability from the start. Wentworth models projects in 3D by default using industry leading BIM software such as Revit and Tekla Structures, integrating structural analysis with detailed construction information. Our approach combines construction-led engineering design with specialist detailing capabilities to deliver highly detailed, coordinated and buildable solutions.
Coordination and structural analysis
Coordination and structural analysisWe build 3D models enabling our structural models to be collaboratively used with 3rd party mechanical and architectural interfaces throughout the design process. This enables the development of structural and geotechnical analysis models that account for site constraints, phasing requirements, and construction loading scenarios. By modelling in 3D from the start, we identify spatial conflicts early utilising clash detection software and plan construction methodology in detail. Our engineers use advanced 3D analysis software for complex structural behaviour where conventional approaches cannot adequately address loading patterns or construction sequencing.
Construction detailing
Our technician team produces highly detailed construction-ready information for structural steelwork and reinforced concrete, covering temporary works including façade retention, formwork and back propping as well as permanent elements such foundations and frame connections. Our construction stage information for connection designs and reinforcement detailing is produced in Tekla Structures, allowing for higher accuracy, efficiency and ensuring alignment with industry standard software used by fabricators to help preserve the digital information flow from design to manufacture.
We develop reinforcement schedules, connection details, and fixing sequences with construction tolerances, site access, and installation requirements built in. Working in 3D ensures coordination, avoids clashes and presents information through models that enable contractors to plan their work, including crane positioning, material storage, and installation sequences, before mobilisation.
