Wentworth provides end-to-end capability and in-house testing through Wentworth Technical Services. We assess structural behaviour, confirm capacity through targeted testing where required, and develop strengthening strategies that can be safely delivered on site.
We design and install structural repairs and bespoke strengthening options, including Fibre-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) systems for slab, beam, and column enhancement, punching shear solutions, as well as bar and strand post-tensioning for remedial applications.

Specialist Lifting and Jacking
Specialist Lifting and JackingWentworth Technical Services provides specialist hydraulic services for preloading and load transfer applications. These include bridge jacking, stressing of crane grillages, temporary works preloading, and flat-jacking for load transfer between old and new structures. We provide jacking solutions with synchronously controlled lifting and associated displacement monitoring, bar and strand stressing, bolt tensioning, and bespoke lifting and lowering solutions. Detailed records of all loads and movements link to calibration records.
FRP systems and concrete strengthening
We use a variety of materials, including FRP to strengthen structures internally and externally, enhancing flexural, shear, and axial performance. Our solutions include FRP plate and wrap systems, column encasement, additional steelwork, and high-performance concrete. Working with leading materials suppliers, our teams specify appropriate systems for increased loads due to changes in use, structural alterations such as new penetrations through existing slabs for lifts, stairs, and escalators, or to address design and construction errors in existing structures.
Post-tensioned structure capability
Wentworth has extensive knowledge of post-tensioned structures. We handle forming slab penetrations and partial demolition of these structures while maintaining structural integrity. Our approach provides remedial epoxy anchorages or alternative systems before cutting elements, often combining this with Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) and punching shear strengthening. We design post-tensioned solutions for a range of applications, including silos. At Tilbury CMAT Jetty, we delivered complex strengthening works for a deteriorating jetty structure, extending the asset's life while maintaining operational requirements throughout the works programme.
