Wentworth works on some of the most demanding structural projects ranging from the most complex city centre basements and high-rise towers to industrial facilities and major bridges.
Our team includes building designers and bridges designers, and includes two Doctors of Engineering. Most of our work is done following either Eurocodes or ASCE and ACI. We use standard industry analysis software including TSD, Etabs and OASYS.
Our work usually involves the following conventional construction typologies. However, we have also worked with structural glass, bronze and gabion walls and are always open to new challenges.

Designing complex structures
Designing complex structuresWhen standard construction approaches are not working, that's when Wentworth comes into its own. We can design complex retention schemes for facade retention and demolition works or develop structural solutions for large openings through load-bearing structures.
For material specification challenges, we understand the constraints of using innovative materials such as low carbon concrete and the key considerations needed to achieve the planned programme.
Wentworth’s engineers have site experience and understand what contractors can actually build, including how long things take, what equipment can realistically achieve, and how to make challenging projects work in practice.
Adaptive reuse
For adaptive reuse projects, we assess existing structures thoroughly, understanding their actual structural capacity through testing rather than code assumptions. We evaluate historic construction methods and assess what can stay, what needs strengthening, and how to keep buildings standing during major works. We contributed to the CIRIA guide (C806) on structural remodelling.
