HIPERPILE

Working alongside Keltbray, Wentworth was instrumental in developing Hiperpile, an innovative foundation system which transforms deep foundations into energy-generating assets. Hiperpile offers a practical way to lower embodied and operational carbon in the built environment.

Supporting net zero
The Hiperpile is an innovative solution that integrates thermal exchange systems inside a structurally optimised hollow pile, transforming foundations into active energy-generating assets. Through harnessing, storing and transferring ground-source energy, Hiperpile is an effective alternative to conventional heating and cooling solutions and can reduce emissions by up to 80% compared to natural gas.

Collaborating on cutting-edge solutions
Wentworth’s structural, geotechnical and energy modelling played a crucial role in the development of Hiperpile. Our engineers analysed how hollow piles perform under load, how thermal exchange affects ground behaviour, and how the combined system delivers reliable on-site energy generation.

Working with Keltbray and Hiperenergy, Wentworth developed a foundation system that generates energy while supporting structural loads.
